Multiple artists, including Bela Fleck and Big Bad VooDoo Daddy, are set to take the stage at the Ware Center's upcoming season.
The Ware Center for the Arts has unveiled its 2025-26 Artistic Season, promising a captivating lineup of performances and events that cater to a wide range of interests.
Kicking off the season is the Family Fun Fest, a celebration filled with entertainment for all ages. The festivities include Manual Cinema's "The Magic City", a mesmerising blend of puppetry and theatre, and Doodle POP's theater and animation show. For those with a love for dance and poetry, LOVEBUG will also be a part of the Fun Fest.
The performing arts series will feature a variety of acts, starting with the Glenn Miller Orchestra's "Holiday Mood", setting the tone for the festive season. Jazz enthusiasts can look forward to Bela Fleck Trio's banjo jazz fusion, Jazz at Lincoln Center's "Crooners", and Bria Skonberg's "Jingle Bell Swing" for holiday jazz.
For those who appreciate historical music, "The Jane Austen Playlist: Love & Music" is not to be missed. The season will also showcase female soul singers in "Soul of America: Legendary Ladies", and a Celtic holiday celebration with Hark! An Irish Christmas featuring RUNA.
The performing arts series will also delve into hip-hop dance with Rennie Harris' "Nuttin' but a Word". Local talent will be highlighted throughout the season, with a series of performances featuring banjo virtuosos, soul and roots artists, and folk and bluegrass performers.
The atrium of the Ware Center will host concerts showcasing Lancaster's vibrant local music scene, while WE THE PEOPLE FIRST FRIDAY will showcase the diversity of the city's arts.
The On Screen/In Person series will present a thought-provoking lineup of films, including "Life After" about disability and dying, "Mali Obomsawin: Sugarcane" about Native culture, and "Silent War" about Asian American and Pacific Islander mental health.
The series will also delve into important social issues such as gun violence in "Louder than Guns", education in "Preschool to Prison", and environmentalism in "The Making of Life on Our Planet".
In addition, the season will feature spoken word performances like "Be Still: A Mosaic Man's Journey", and events focusing on disability and arts in "Unbound: Poetry, Presence..." and "The Paza Experience" featuring Native art and culture.
Notable events include the charity art auction, Peace Kids to the Rescue / Print Crawl, and the film about Philly architect Louis Kahn, filmed partially in Lancaster. The director of the film, however, remains unidentified as of now.
The season will also feature a film about immigrant stories, "Voices of Migration", and a performance by Natalie MacMaster & Donnell Leahy, known as Celtic all-stars.
The season will culminate with a powerful performance by singer/songwriter Liz Fulmer and Matt Goss on March 13, followed by improv theater by Lancaster Improv Players on April 3. The season will close with a holiday crooner, Anthony Nunziata, and a holiday swing performance by Big Bad VooDoo Daddy's Holiday Party.
With such a diverse and engaging lineup, the Ware Center for the Arts promises an unforgettable 2025-26 season.
