Kickstarting the 2025 World Series of Poker!

The initial week of events for the 2025 WSOP has wrapped up, and the race for the coveted bracelets is heating up! Already, a bracelet has been awarded in the Industry Employees Event, but the remaining ones are still up for grabs.

The early Canadian successes came in Event #6: $1,500 Seven Card Stud. Thomas Taylor, a native of Alberta, and Greg Mueller, hailing from BC, both exhibited their seven-card skills, securing spots in the game. This marked Taylor's first cash of the 2025 series. With over $2.2 million in career winnings and two WSOP Circuit rings, the mixed-game master is still on the hunt for his maiden hardware from poker's summer camp. Although he may have aspired for a deeper run, earning his first cash of the series in the first stud event will undoubtedly bolster his bracelet pursuit this year.

Other Canadian highlights include substantial performances in the final Mystery Millions flight, as well as Patrick Stacey's deep run in Event #4: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better.

(Remember, the poker landscape evolves rapidly, and as of my latest update, the following players are notable Canadians yet to secure a WSOP bracelet: Sorel Mizzi, Mike Watson, and Erik Cajelais. However, Kevin Li has recently claimed his first WSOP bracelet in the 2025 Tournament of Champions[3].)

The upcoming casino-and-gambling events, including casino-games like Seven Card Stud and Poker, promise to continue the excitement at the 2025 World Series of Poker as the race for coveted bracelets heats up. With notable Canadians like Sorel Mizzi, Mike Watson, and Erik Cajelais yet to secure a WSOP bracelet, there's a chance they might find success in these upcoming events.
