Movie Directors Attend Open-Air Film Screening

In the heart of Pforzheim, the Open-Air Cinema and Kulturhaus Osterfeld recently played host to an exciting event. Filmmaker Christian Vogel introduced his latest documentary, "Whatever Comes", to around 320 viewers, following a year-long journey that saw his motorcycle repaired several times in one of the few BMW workshops in India.

"Whatever Comes" is an ode to openness and hospitality, as Vogel encountered help from various individuals during his journey. The film, which will be shown twice more in the communal cinema hall next week, offers a unique insight into Vogel's travels and the kindness he experienced along the way. Tickets can be purchased in advance.

After the screening, Vogel's motorcycle was displayed at the courtyard of the Kulturhaus, drawing the attention of many attendees. A Pakistani police officer even contributed to Vogel's journey by giving him money when no ATM was working in the country.

Meanwhile, another intriguing project was unveiled at the Open-Air Cinema Pforzheim. Dominik Kuhn, also known as "Dodokay", presented his film adaptation of Fritz Lang's "The 1000 Eyes of Dr. Mabuse", titled "The 1000 Glotzböbbel of Dr. Mabuse". The film focuses on the "Swabian" development called the internet, which is supposed to have its headquarters in a tavern called "The Golden Grassdackel" on the Swabian Alb.

Kuhn, a multitalented individual with professions including sound engineering, screenwriting, translating, voice acting, producing, directing, music, and comedy, shared a ten-minute introduction and "star interview", live from the projection room at Osterfeld Primary School, with Open-Air projectionist Timo Gerstel. The premiere of "The 1000 Glotzböbbel of Dr. Mabuse" attracted around 380 viewers under the starlit sky.

It was a night filled with broad dialect, shared anecdotes, and a celebration of local talent. Both films serve as a testament to the power of storytelling and the spirit of collaboration, reminding us that even the most challenging journeys can lead to profound and inspiring experiences.
