Mountain biker in Munich tumbles down the Worm Valley trail, sustaining severe injuries
In the peaceful town of Gauting, situated within the Starnberg district, an e-bike rider from Munich was injured in an incident on Planegger Street shortly after midnight on Saturday. The incident involved a collision with a three-meter-high wooden sculpture that was found lying across the foot and bike path.
According to the police, the sculpture was deliberately knocked over, as residents reported hearing voices and a 'bang' shortly before the accident, and the sculpture was secured with a lock. Despite immediate search measures, the perpetrators could not be found. The e-bike rider, aged 55, sustained slight injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
The same day, around 2 pm, a separate incident occurred in the Wuermtal, involving another e-bike rider from Munich. This time, the rider was on a trail with his minor son. The mountain biker crashed alone in a curve, suffering severe head injuries. The injuries prevented the rider from being transported by ambulance and required a helicopter to take him to the hospital.
The police are currently investigating both incidents as potential cases of dangerous interference with road traffic. For any information regarding the incident on Planegger Street, residents are encouraged to contact the Gauting police station at 089/893133-0.
It is important to note that these incidents are separate from any earlier incidents in Wuermtal. The community is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. Let's hope for the speedy recovery of the injured riders and the apprehension of those responsible for these incidents.
