Motorway Mishap at FW Bergheim: One Individual Suffers Injury
On Monday morning, the Bergheim Fire Department was alerted to a car collision on the Autobahn 61 near Bergheim. The incident occurred in the direction of Venlo between the Bergheim and Bedburg junctions.
According to the Fire Department Press Spokesperson, Sebastian Draxl ([email protected], 0151 59983940), the collision involved a car and a trailer. Upon arrival, the fire department found that another truck driver had already secured the scene.
The driver involved in the accident was a 35-year-old woman from the Freiburg area. She was injured in the incident and was treated by the fire department before being transported to a hospital. The fire department also assisted the truck driver.
The car was completely wrecked on the left lane, while the truck was stopped a few meters away on the shoulder. The fire department later disconnected the high-voltage system of the electric car at a designated point.
15 personnel from the full-time station and the Bergheim unit were deployed. However, the fire department does not have information on the extent of the damage or the cause of the accident.
The fire department's work was completed around 9:30 a.m., after which the police continued to secure the scene. No further information on the duration of the full closure was provided.
