Motocross rider meets fatal end due to mid-air crash
In a shocking turn of events, a fatal accident occurred during a motocross competition held over the weekend in the commune of La Besace, Ardenas, north of France.
The 45-year-old pilot who died on Sunday has been identified as Matthieu Lemoine. The incident took place while he was attempting to overcome an obstacle on the course.
This marks the first tragedy of this kind in the eleven-year history of the event, according to Francis Dardard, president of Ardenn'Moto Passion, the motorcycle club responsible for the competition.
Upon learning of the accident, emergency services rushed to the scene, but unfortunately, they were unable to revive the pilot.
The event, which has been ongoing for eleven years, saw a total of 121 participants registered. After the accident, spectators were asked to leave the area, and the race was immediately suspended.
It's worth noting that the money raised from these registrations is donated to a children's leukemia or cancer aid association.
An investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident. As more information becomes available, updates will be provided accordingly.
Our thoughts are with Matthieu's family and friends during this difficult time.
