Mosque in FW Hannover experiences substantial smoke development due to a kitchen fire
In the industrial area of Hannover Linden, a significant incident took place on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 PM. A fire broke out in a former commercial building currently used as a mosque on Davenstedter Str.
Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke billowing from the building. A total of 47 emergency services personnel with 17 vehicles from the fire department and rescue service were swiftly dispatched to the scene. The team included two fire engines from the professional fire brigade, the volunteer fire department Hannover, and the rescue service.
Despite the extensive efforts, the exact cause of the fire remains a mystery. The Hannover Fire Department has not yet provided any information on whether any evidence was found to determine the cause of the fire.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the fire. However, the department has not yet provided any information on whether any people were found inside the mosque during the firefighting measures.
The fire was primarily located in the kitchen, which was the presumed point of origin. After the fire was extinguished, extensive ventilation measures were taken with several high-performance fans to clear the smoke. The Hannover Fire Department successfully managed to contain the fire, preventing it from spreading to other buildings.
The department has also not provided any information on whether any structural damage occurred during the firefighting measures or whether any other buildings were affected by the fire or the smoke.
The scene of the fire in the mosque in Hannover-Linden has been handed over to the police for further investigation. The deputy chief of the Hannover fire department, Gregor Fleischmann, is involved in investigating the cause of the fire and assessing the damage extent following the large fire of the gymnasium in Hannover-Misburg.
