Pforzheim City Councillor Annkathrin Wulff Discusses Women in Local Politics at Schloss Bellevue

Pforzheim City Councillor Annkathrin Wulff, a member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), recently participated in a discussion about challenges and opportunities for women in local politics at Schloss Bellevue in Berlin. The event was part of a series of events during the Mayors' Conference and was hosted by Elke Büdenbender, the wife of the German Federal President, and Doris Schmidauer, the wife of the Austrian Federal President.

Delegations from the German Association of Towns and Municipalities, the Austrian Association of Municipalities, and the Swiss Association of Municipalities were also present, along with female politicians from Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Prior to the symposium, Wulff exchanged ideas with Members of Parliament and representatives of the European Academy for Women in Politics and Economics Berlin.

Wulff is a spokesperson for the prize winners of all generations, alongside Katja Glybowskaja and Notburga Kuhnert, since 2022. This role came following her receipt of the Helene Weber Prize in 2020 for her work as a local politician. The Helene Weber Prize is awarded by the Federal Ministry for Family, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.

The Helene Weber College, a platform for cross-party networking and the promotion of female local politicians, was also discussed during the event. Wulff introduced the college and its initiatives to female politicians from other countries.

The discussion focused on the Network Women and Politics, an organisation Wulff mentioned in Berlin, which aims to facilitate an exchange between female politicians. The event was a reception, and no current phone or contact information, or event dates, are provided in this article.

Wulff's attendance at this event further highlights her dedication to promoting women in local politics and fostering cross-border collaboration. As a city councillor from Pforzheim, Germany, Wulff continues to make significant contributions to the political landscape, both locally and internationally.
