Monthly child support payment of $200,000 agreed upon in divorce settlement between Kim Kardashian and Ye
In a significant development, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West (formerly known as Ye) have reached a divorce settlement, according to several media outlets. The details of the agreement, which have not been officially confirmed, have been outlined in Los Angeles County Superior Court documents.
The settlement includes joint custody of their four children, aged 3, 4, 6, and 9. The children will remain in the Hidden Hills area near Los Angeles, with the stipulation that they may not move more than 60 miles (100 km) from Kardashian's home before they finish high school or turn 19 years old.
Ye has agreed to transfer one Hidden Hills property to Kardashian as part of the settlement. Both parents will share the cost of their children's private security, schooling, and university education. Each parent will also have access to the children on their birthdays and other special occasions.
The division of real estate between the former couple was handled by their legal teams and divorce lawyers. Kim Kardashian will keep properties in Malibu and Riverside, California, and Harrison, Idaho, in addition to the Hidden Hills home. She will also receive $200,000 a month in child support.
The authenticity of the documents has not been confirmed by Reuters. Representatives of Ye did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Controversy has surrounded Ye in recent times, with some of his social media posts being removed due to being condemned as antisemitic. He has also been involved in other controversial actions, including ending major corporate tie-ups and making outbursts on social media against other celebrities.
In a statement, a Kardashian spokesperson declined to comment on the matter. The divorce, which was filed by Kardashian last year, citing irreconcilable differences, is expected to be finalised in the coming months. Despite the split, the couple will spend most of their time with their children.
