Mississippi murder suspect faces death penalty for killing casino tourist

A teenager was indicted this week on murder and other charges in connection with the deaths of three victims near a casino in Mississippi.

Deonte Carnell Taylor, 18, of Tunica, Mississippi, was charged Wednesday with a triple murder that occurred in Robinsonville on November 10, Tennessee television station WHBQ reported..

Bail has not been released in his case and he remains in custody at the Tunica County Jail later this week.

If Taylor is convicted in the fatal shooting, he could be executed as he is charged with murder, Tennessee television station WREG reported. Or at least he could face life in prison if convicted.

Extra Count

Other charges against the teen include four counts of discharging a weapon into a motor vehicle and four counts of conspiracy to commit a felony.

Other unnamed suspects may be arrested soon in connection with the shooting.

According to the Tunica County Sheriff's Office (TCSO), three people were killed while sitting in a car near an unnamed casino.

The car, riddled with bullet holes, crashed into a utility pole and burst into flames on Casino Center Boulevard.

The victims included Tednequa Tennis Moore, 25, of Robinsonville, Deshun Montario Isabel, 24, of Tunica, Mississippi, and Shi, 23, of Dundee, Mississippi. Tivon Dwayne Burt.

According to TCSO, Moore was pregnant when she was shot.

The victim stopped at a sandwich shop for dinner. They were on their way to the casino hotel when the shooting occurred.

Victim chased by suspect

A man inside the car was apparently being watched by the suspect, WHBQ reported.

"I just don't understand. Why kill everyone if you have a suspect you want to solve," Moore's father, Teddy Moore, told WHBQ.

She was in the car and they just shot into the car. They didn't care who got hit, and they didn't care because three people died. "

According to WHBQ , Teddy Moore heard rumors that his daughter's boyfriend was fighting with someone.

"Word on the street is that he and these guys have been arguing for a while and they shot up the house he was living in a few weeks ago and I guess they finally caught up with him," Moore announced earlier this month.

Moore said he also warned his daughter that someone might try to kill her boyfriend and that she should stay away from him for her own safety.

Robinsonville is located about 30 miles south of Memphis, Tennessee, and there are several casinos in the area.
