Minnesota's Lieutenant Governor faces threats, culminating in charges against a man from Oglesby.
In a shocking turn of events, Caden Sluder, a 22-year-old man from Oglesby, is charged with making threats of violence against Minnesota Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan. The threats were made on KARE TV and involved violent rhetoric, including statements that violence will result in Peggy Flanagan's blood coming out of her mouth and being beaten.
The threats were in response to an incident at Annunciation Catholic School. Sluder expressed anger about Christians being killed in Minnesota and made a comment about Peggy Flanagan wearing a trans shirt. His identity was confirmed by Minnesota authorities through his IP address.
Sluder told a Minnesota State Trooper that he was not planning to act on the threats. However, he reportedly apologized multiple times to the officer. If found guilty, Sluder could face a maximum of five years in prison and be fined up to $10,000.
Peggy Flanagan, the Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota, thanked law enforcement for their response to the incident at Annunciation Catholic School. She expressed sympathy for those affected by the incident and reiterated her commitment to promoting peace and unity in the state.
Aaron Coleman, another individual, is also being investigated for additional crimes after threatening Peggy Flanagan with death before his arrest. Sluder is currently in La Salle County Jail, charged with being a fugitive from Justice. It is reported that he is being held for another department.
