The Prime Minister, Sir Keir, has carried out a significant cabinet reshuffle, appointing several new ministers to key roles across various departments.

One of the most notable changes is the appointment of Yvette Cooper as the new Foreign Secretary, replacing Shabana Mahmood. Cooper, who was previously appointed to the Foreign Office, will now lead the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.

In a move that marks a shift in the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, Alison McGovern MP has been appointed as Minister of State. Meanwhile, Alex Norris MP has been appointed Minister of State in the Home Department.

David Lammy has taken on a prominent role, being appointed as Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Secretary. He replaces Angela Rayner, who stepped down due to breaching the ministerial code. The breach was related to underpaying stamp duty.

Steve Reed has taken over as Housing Secretary, replacing Steve Reed, while Sarah Jones MP was appointed Minister of State for the Home Department.

In the Department for Business and Trade, Sir Chris Bryant MP has been appointed Minister of State, and Jason Stockwood was appointed Minister of State (Minister for Investment) jointly in the Department for Business and Trade and HM Treasury.

The Department for Education has seen changes too, with Georgia Gould MP appointed Minister of State and Miatta Fahnbulleh MP taking on the role of Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State. Rt Hon Baroness Smith of Malvern remains Minister of State (Minister for Skills) in the Department for Work and Pensions, and also Minister of State (Minister for Skills and Minister for Women and Equalities) in the Department for Education.

The Ministry of Justice welcomes Baroness Levitt as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, and the Ministry of Defence has a new addition in Luke Pollard MP as Minister of State.

Notable appointments in other departments include Rt Hon Ellie Reeves MP as Solicitor General, Dan Jarvis MP as Minister of State in the Cabinet Office and also Minister of State for the Home Department, Chris Ward MP as Parliamentary Secretary in the Cabinet Office, and Samantha Dixon MP as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State in the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

Lastly, Pat McFadden is set to take over a new "super ministry" comprised of the Department for Work and Pensions and the skills remit of the Department for Education.

This reshuffle marks a significant change in the British government, with several new faces taking on key roles. The public will be eager to see how these changes will impact the country's future.
