Military Drill Collaboration in Herne: Partnership in Action

Emergency Exercise Scheduled for September 6, 2025 in Herne

On September 6, 2025, a significant emergency exercise will take place at the St. Elisabeth Group campus on Widumer Straße in Herne. This exercise, involving the Herne Fire Department, Herne Police, and other emergency services, is of great importance and significance for all involved forces.

The exercise is not related to any specific emergency or incident. It aims to simulate an emergency situation and will last from 9 am to approximately 4 pm. During this time, a large number of emergency vehicles from the police, fire department, and rescue services will be arriving at the exercise location using special rights.

To provide further information, press representatives can contact Dr. Daniela Lobin from the St. Elisabeth Group at [email protected] or 02325 9862660. Additionally, a press officer from the St. Elisabeth Group will be available at the same location.

Marco Bischoff from the Police can be contacted at [email protected] or 0234 909-1021 for inquiries. For inquiries related to the Herne Fire Department, press representatives can contact René Bonn at [email protected] or 0151 14747529.

A press officer from the Herne Fire Department, identifiable by a green vest with "Press Spokesperson" written on it, will be available at the campus entrance on Josef-Prenger-Straße for press representatives from 10:30 am.

Please note that Widumer Straße will be temporarily closed to traffic due to the exercise. There may also be increased noise in the surrounding area at times.

The St. Elisabeth Group, Marien Hospital Herne, and Ruhr-Universität Bochum are also participating in the exercise. The exercise does not involve any advertisements.

The exercise places a strong emphasis on realism, with many participants made up to appear as injured or affected individuals. This exercise is a valuable opportunity for all emergency services to practice and improve their response to real-life situations.

We encourage the media to attend this important event and look forward to providing further updates as the exercise approaches.
