Micro-tool accuracy reaches unprecedented levels with LC54-DIGILOG innovation

In the world of precision manufacturing, Blum-Novotest is making waves with its latest innovation, the LC54-DIGILOG, presented at EMO 2025. This new tool-measuring system has been designed to offer unparalleled accuracy and efficiency for measuring micro-tools.

The LC54-DIGILOG boasts a repeatability accuracy of 0.2 micrometers, making it an ideal choice for industries where high precision is paramount. Its compact design and precision capabilities make it perfect for measuring micro-tools with the utmost accuracy.

One of the key features of the LC54-DIGILOG is its optimized laser optics for micro-tools. This feature, combined with its ability to engage the MicroTool mode when measuring extremely small tools, ensures even more precise results.

Blum-Novotest is also collaborating with Schunk to make Schunk's battery-operated clamping devices compatible with Blum's BRC wireless technology. This collaboration aims to save time, reduce installation effort, and increase flexibility in production.

The LC54-DIGILOG is equipped with advanced technology that independently detects contamination on the tool holder or coolant residues and excludes them from the result. This ensures the most accurate measurements possible.

In addition, the LC54-DIGILOG generates several thousand measurement values per second, significantly reducing measurement and testing times by up to 60%.

Standard measuring routines can be integrated into common CAD/CAM systems like Mastercam using LC-VISION, saving time in programming. GrindingControl in LC-VISION automatically calculates an optimized processing dimension and enters it directly into the tool table, further streamlining the manufacturing process.

Blum's software LC-VISION offers an easy-to-understand interface for configuring measurement processes and displaying results. This user-friendly software, combined with the LC54-DIGILOG's precision capabilities, makes it an invaluable tool for any precision manufacturing operation.

The LC54-DIGILOG is the successor to the LaserControl Nano NT, building upon its predecessor's success while introducing new features such as the GrindingControl, which enables precise recording of the actual geometry of grinding tools.

While specific details about Winfried Weiland's role at EMO 2025 are not available, it is clear that his work contributes to Blum-Novotest's continued commitment to innovation and precision in the field of tool measurement.

At Hannover, Blum-Novotest will present this new innovation in cooperation with Schunk, showcasing how these two companies are working together to revolutionize the world of precision manufacturing. The LC54-DIGILOG is set to redefine the standards for tool measurement, offering unmatched accuracy, efficiency, and user-friendliness.
