Michigan's First Dealerless Poker Tables Debut at Hollywood Casino
Jackpot Digital has received approval to introduce its dealerless poker tables in Michigan. The company will install its Jackpot Blitz tables at Hollywood Casino in Detroit's Greektown district. This move marks the first entry of automated poker technology into the state's commercial casino market. The Michigan Gaming Control Board greenlit the installation after reviewing the technology. Unlike traditional poker tables, Jackpot Blitz uses a 75-inch touchscreen to create a virtual gaming experience. Players interact with a digital interface featuring animations and sound effects designed to mimic live play.
The tables process up to 44 hands per hour, far exceeding the speed of conventional poker setups. They support various game formats, including continuous cash games, tournaments, and side bets. By removing the need for a human dealer, the system cuts staffing costs and eliminates tipping, making operations more efficient.
Automation also ensures consistency in gameplay, reducing errors and disputes over card dealing. Industry observers are monitoring how these tables may change player engagement and poker room dynamics. The aim is to attract newcomers and casual players who might find traditional poker intimidating. Hollywood Casino will be the first Michigan venue to feature Jackpot Blitz tables. The technology's impact on poker accessibility and casino operations remains to be seen. For now, no further installations in the US have been announced for the next year.
