Michigan lottery club wins $1M Powerball with a $2 ticket
A small lottery club in Michigan has won a $1 million Powerball prize. The three-member group, known as K-Car, matched all five white balls in a recent draw. Their winning ticket was bought at a local petrol station in Ludington.
The lucky purchase happened at Murphy USA on 4888 US Highway 10. The club's numbers—04, 05, 28, 52, and 69—matched those drawn in the game. Powerball holds its draws three times a week: every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 PM.
One of the members could hardly believe the result when it appeared on screen. They scanned the ticket repeatedly just to be sure. Each ticket had cost them $2, a small price for such a big return.
The K-Car club now plans to invest part of their winnings and use the rest for travel. Powerball tickets are available in 45 states, as well as the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Washington D.C.
The win marks a rare million-dollar Powerball prize in recent years. No other prizes of this size have been recorded in the US over the last five years. The club's careful number selection and persistence paid off in the end.
