MGM Grand suspect charged with multiple stabbings

Three suspects face attempted murder with a deadly weapon and several other charges. It comes after a man was stabbed to death in a room at the MGM Grand on the Las Vegas Strip this week.

The unnamed male victim met one of the suspects, Faith Bennett, earlier Monday. He told Bennett he would pay her $300 for sex, Las Vegas TV station KLAS reported.

He and Bennett then went to a hotel room on the seventh floor that was assigned to a second woman named Monica Juarez.

The man allegedly touched Bennett's genitals in the room. Bennett became angry with the man and scolded him for "forbidden" touching her vaginal area, KLAS reported. She then ordered him to leave the hotel room.

Bennett reportedly had a switchblade, but police said it was unclear whether she or Juarez stabbed the man.

The third person arrested, Nicholas Laws, told authorities that after an argument broke out, he went to his hotel room to calm things down.

The injured victim, described as being in his fifties, walked to a nearby elevator. He was later found on the fifth floor of the hotel and was taken to University Hospital for treatment of his wounds.

A housekeeper later found the knife used in the stabbing under the bed in the seventh-floor room.

The three suspects left the hotel around 7:30 a.m. Monday. They took a taxi to an apartment complex near the intersection of East Katy Avenue and Algonquin Avenue, KLAS reported.

They were quickly arrested by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) police at the apartment complex. None of the three wanted to discuss the details of the reported stabbing with police.

Multiple Charges

In addition to the attempted murder charge, Bennett, Juarez and Rouse were each charged with assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury, conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury and conspiracy to commit murder causing serious bodily injury. Bodily Injury Charged with assault, possession of a weapon and harboring a felon.

The trio appeared in a local court later this week. Everyone was released on bail.

One of the conditions of the judge's release was that no one be allowed to have contact with the victim.

Each suspect was ordered to next appear in court on Nov. 1.
