During the intense heatwave in Mexico, the Mexican weather service reported a record temperature of 34.7 degrees Celsius in Mexico City on Saturday. It marks the highest temperature ever recorded since the records began.

Mexico City's temperature reaches a new high at 34.7 degrees.

Scientists from the National Autonomous University of Mexico issued a warning on Wednesday that the rising temperatures in Mexico City could potentially result in more record highs over the next two weeks.

The government has reported that 48 lives have been lost so far this year due to the ongoing heatwave. Last year alone, Mexico experienced a staggering 419 heat-related fatalities.
