Merkur Casino unveils £22M Milton Keynes venue with gaming and live shows

Merkur Casino is set to open a new venue in Milton Keynes on 1 November 2023. The 22,000-square-foot property will sit inside Xscape Milton Keynes, offering gaming, live entertainment, and a large bar. Company leaders have called it a major step forward for regional leisure.

The casino will occupy a 1,367-square-metre gaming floor with 72 slot machines and 26 electronic roulette terminals. Fifteen table games will also be available for visitors. Alongside the gaming area, a 4,700-square-foot bar and a dedicated live entertainment space will form part of the venue.

Mark Schertle, Merkur Casino UK's chief operating officer, described the opening as an important milestone. He explained that the goal was to deliver an outstanding experience, raising the bar for entertainment in the area. Dan Murphy, centre director of Xscape Milton Keynes, welcomed the project, noting Merkur's significant investment in transforming the site. The new casino is expected to create around 100 jobs. It will also boost local tourism, nightlife, and entertainment options. To mark the launch, a £10,000 giveaway has been planned for opening night.

The venue will expand the leisure offerings at Xscape Milton Keynes. With gaming, events, and a large bar, it aims to attract visitors and support the local economy. Doors officially open on 1 November 2023.
