Men detained for suspected involvement in vehicle explosive incident
In a series of events that unfolded over the past few days, two individuals, aged 23 and 24, have been arrested in connection with a stolen car case.
The incident began when a car, previously listed as stolen in the police's search system, was spotted fleeing from the authorities on Jägerstraße. The car, with a fake license plate, managed to evade the initial pursuit but was later found abandoned in an opposite residential area.
The investigation, involving the Kassel Criminal Police and the Bielefeld Criminal Police, led to the narrowing down of the escape area to a nearby residential neighbourhood. It was here that the two suspects were located.
The 24-year-old suspect was found hiding in a children's play tunnel on Freiligrathstraße, while the second suspect was arrested in a bike cellar on Schnakenbrockstraße. Both locations were reported to the police by concerned citizens.
Upon their arrest, forgery charges were filed against both suspects due to the fake license plate of the car. Additionally, theft of a motor vehicle charges and corresponding charges for driving without a license were also filed, as neither of the suspects possessed a valid driver's license.
Trespassing charges were also filed against the two individuals, as their actions during the incident were deemed to have infringed upon the privacy and safety of the local residents.
After appearing before a judge, both suspects were released as there were no special grounds for remand. The stolen car was recovered, and the case continues to be under investigation.
