"Media sales veteran Jim McGlasson announces retirement following a 55-year tenure"

Jim McGlasson, a seasoned media sales professional with over five decades of experience, has announced his retirement from CDC Gaming. McGlasson joined CDC Gaming in 2016 as its inaugural dedicated Advertising Manager and has been instrumental in the growth of the company's media and advertising sales.

McGlasson's career in media sales began long before his tenure at CDC Gaming. His resume includes notable positions such as General Manager of the Las Vegas Sun and negotiating a Joint Operating Agreement with the Las Vegas Review-Journal. His route to CDC Gaming was unconventional, as he was found by posting a Craigslist ad.

Jeffrey Compton, Publisher Emeritus at CDC Gaming, contacted McGlasson based on his experience, especially with the Greenspun organization at the Las Vegas Sun. McGlasson has led advertising sales for CDC Gaming for nine years, contributing significantly to the growth of commercial casinos, igaming, sports betting, suppliers, and tribal gaming sectors on the platform.

McGlasson's retirement marks the end of his 55-year career in publishing. He is proud of his contribution to the growth and success of CDC Gaming and has had a wonderful experience working with Publisher Cory Roberts and the entire team at CDC.

In his retirement, McGlasson plans to spend more time with his wife and grandkids in Portland. He will also take some vacation time before fully stepping away from the industry.

CDC Gaming is now seeking a driven individual to lead client relationships and sales following McGlasson's retirement. Details about the job opportunity for a new Advertising Manager will be available soon.

Mark Gruetze chronicled McGlasson's career last October, providing a comprehensive overview of his impressive career in media sales. However, specific details about his entire advertising career prior to CDC Gaming or personal reasons behind his retirement are not publicly available.

As McGlasson steps down from his position, he leaves behind a legacy of success and a commitment to excellence in media sales. His retirement is a significant milestone not just for CDC Gaming, but for the entire media industry.
