In a thrilling race at the Monza circuit, Red Bull's Max Verstappen dominated the Italian Grand Prix, securing his third win of the season. The race, which was the fastest in Formula 1 history, lasting just 1 hour and 13 minutes, saw Verstappen leading for most of the race.

At the start, Verstappen was so far right that Lando Norris, who started in second place, had to veer into the grass. This incident set the tone for an exciting duel at the start, with Charles Leclerc settling into fourth place after the initial skirmish.

Norris, however, experienced drama at the pit stop during the race. His left front tire got stuck, causing him to be stationary for 5.9 seconds. This mishap allowed Verstappen's teammate, Piastri, to take advantage and move into second place.

McLaren, hoping for a safety car to challenge Verstappen, delayed their pit stop until the very end. Unfortunately, the safety car did not come, and Piastri held onto second place until the end of the race. In a sporting gesture, McLaren later asked Piastri to let Norris pass, which he did in lap 49.

Despite a strong start, Leclerc's Ferrari had no chance to contend for the win at their home race. The Ferrari driver, George Russell, finished behind Leclerc in fifth place.

Alex Albon scored points for Williams with a consistent performance, finishing in seventh place. Kimi Antonelli, driving for Mercedes, finished ninth after a five-second penalty for his duel with Albon. Nico Hülkenberg could not start the race due to a hydraulic problem.

In the battle for the lower positions, Gabriel Bortoleto finished ahead of Isack Hadjar in the Sauber race.

Verstappen's win extends his lead over Norris to 19.2 seconds in the drivers' championship standings. The next race is the Singapore Grand Prix, where Verstappen will aim to continue his impressive form.
