McDonald's Malaysia Unveils Heartfelt Film for Lunar New Year Prosperity Campaign

McDonald's Malaysia has launched 'The Blessing', a short film for its Lunar New Year Prosperity campaign. The story follows a family navigating sibling relationships and the care of an elderly parent. It marks the third instalment in a series of films centred on family unity and shared prosperity.

The campaign, running for three months, includes limited-edition menu items, interactive promotions, and charitable contributions. McDonald's aims to shift the focus from material wealth to gratitude for loved ones during the festive season.

Directed by Dick Chua of D Moving Pictures and produced by Leo Malaysia, 'The Blessing' continues the storyline from 'The Wish'. The same cast returns, but this time, the plot explores the challenges of sibling dynamics and supporting an ageing parent. Barry Victor, Senior Client and Creative Partner at Leo Malaysia, noted that authentic storytelling helps people connect during celebrations.

The film is part of a wider Prosperity campaign, which includes limited-time Prosperity Burgers and activations like 'Makan Emas, Menang Emas'. Customers can also find Fu Pows containing a 999.9 10g Gold Prosperity bar. Chin Mei Lee, Chief Marketing Officer of McDonald's Malaysia, confirmed the campaign's goal: to show that prosperity means more when shared.

Beyond promotions, McDonald's contributed RM420,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities Malaysia through Prosperity Burger sales. The company also hosted Open House events and visited old folks' homes. These efforts reinforce the campaign's message of gratitude and togetherness during Lunar New Year.

The release of 'The Blessing' adds to McDonald's Malaysia's three-film series for the Prosperity campaign. Each film highlights family bonds, cultural traditions, and modern challenges. The campaign's mix of storytelling, promotions, and charity work continues until the end of the Lunar New Year period.
