In a shocking turn of events, a 27-year-old Syrian man identified as Issa al H. has been charged with triple murder and ten counts of attempted murder following a knife attack at the Festival of Diversity in Solingen last summer.

The attack, which occurred in the heart of the city's festival, left three people dead and ten others seriously injured. The Islamic State terrorist organization claimed responsibility for the attack, and the Federal Prosecutor's Office has accused Issa al H. of being an IS terrorist.

Issa al H. confessed to carrying out the knife attack, justifying it as revenge for Israel's actions in Gaza and as retribution for massacres of Muslims in several countries. He also revealed his true identity as a jihadist and Islamist shortly before the end of the evidence-gathering process.

The Federal Prosecutor's Office has requested life imprisonment and subsequent preventive detention for the attacker. The representative of the Federal Prosecutor's Office stated that Issa al H. is charged with triple murder and ten counts of attempted murder.

Before the attack, Issa al H. recorded a propaganda video, initially portraying himself as a victim of manipulation. However, it was later discovered that he had been radicalized by the end of 2019 and took an oath of allegiance to the IS caliph before the knife attack.

The Islamic State terrorist organization claimed responsibility for the attack, and the Federal Prosecutor's Office has accused Issa al H. of being an IS terrorist. Issa al H., however, remained silent on the charge of IS membership.

The attack has sent shockwaves through the community, with many questioning how such an attack could have happened in a city known for its diversity and tolerance. The Federal Prosecutor's Office is continuing its investigation into the case, and the name of the attacker, Issa al H., has been made public.
