Massive Turnout at Asian Poker Tour's South Korea Main Event, Breaking Previous Participant Records

The Asian Poker Tour (APT) Incheon Main Event, held in South Korea from August 1-10, has set new records for the richest ever poker tournament in Korea and the largest Korean field in the tour's history.

With a total prize pool of KRW 2,766,660,000 (approximately $2M USD), the event surpassed the $1.7M prize pool of the 2024 APT Jeju event, making it the most lucrative tournament in Korea to date. The tournament also attracted a staggering 1,281 entries, breaking the previous record.

The opening flights of the tournament, which included Flight A, B, C, and D, saw a total of 81 Day 2 walk-ups and 206 online entries. Flight B had 236 entries and 99 survivors, while Flight A had 250 entries and 89 survivors. Flight C had 316 entries and 148 survivors, and Flight D had 192 entries and 95 survivors.

As of the current standings, Abraham Ceesvin is the chip leader with 954,000 chips. He is closely followed by Shuzo Sekine in second place with 867,000 chips, Kazuhiro Shirasawa in third place with 792,000 chips, and Daito Yamashita in fourth place with 727,000 chips. Jun Li is in sixth place with 673,000 chips, Yifan Cao is in seventh place with 660,000 chips, Tomoyuki Yoshimiya is in ninth place with 620,000 chips, and Vladimir Munits is in eighth place with 631,000 chips. Kookchunantoine Priniotakis is in tenth place with 605,000 chips, and Jian Han is in fifth place with 717,000 chips.

The winner of the APT Incheon Main Event will receive a grand prize of 483,890,000 KRW (approximately $349,885 USD), making it a highly coveted title in the poker world.

The APT Incheon Main Event is just one of the 96 tournaments being hosted at the event, breaking records in the building. With such a large turnout and impressive prize pools, the APT Incheon is undoubtedly a significant event in the poker calendar.
