Massive Fire Erupts Along Old Post Road in Gronau - Initial Report from FW Gronau
The Fire Department Gronau was dispatched to the industrial area on the Old Post Road today, following an initial report of a fire under the keyword "Fire". Upon arrival, a dark cloud of smoke was visible. A full alarm was immediately called for the entire Gronau fire department, and they fought the fire from two sides.
The fire was in several containers filled with plastic waste, and due to the strong smoke development, a warning was issued to the public. The public was advised to keep doors and windows closed and to stay indoors, with the warning being issued via the NINA warning app. The area around the Old Post Road/Jöbkesweg is currently closed.
Thankfully, follow-up extinguishing work is currently underway, and the fire is now under control. A final report on the incident will be released in due course. The Fire Department Gronau can be contacted at +49 2562 / 18713-0, and their website is feuerwehr-gronau.de.
