Maruti Suzuki Announces Price Cuts on Select Models Amidst Festive Season and New GST Regime

Maruti Suzuki, India's leading automobile manufacturer, has announced price cuts on several of its passenger vehicles, as the festive season rush and the new GST regime starting on September 22 are expected to boost sales.

The most significant price cut is on the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, which will see a reduction of ₹40,000, bringing down the starting price to ₹3.79 lakh (ex-showroom). The Alto, S-Presso, Celerio, WagonR, and Invicto MPV may also receive substantial price cuts. The Invicto MPV could see a price cut of ₹2.25 lakh.

In the small car segment, the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, S-Presso, and Celerio will receive price cuts of ₹40,000, ₹50,000, and ₹38,000, respectively. The WagonR, another popular small car, is expected to receive a price cut of ₹57,000.

In the utility vehicle segment, the Brezza could receive a price cut of ₹78,000, while the Ertiga could receive a price cut of ₹41,000. The XL6 could see a price cut of ₹35,000, and the Fronx, with a 1197 cc engine and a starting price of ₹7.58 Lakhs, will receive a price cut ranging from ₹58,000 to ₹68,000.

Maruti Suzuki Chairman RC Bhargava has hinted at a significant price cut on some popular models, including small cars. He stated that the company is looking to pass on the benefits of the new GST rates to consumers.

In addition to these price reductions, Maruti Suzuki is also set to launch several new vehicles. The Tata Punch EV, with a battery range of 300 km, is an upcoming vehicle with a price range of ₹10 - 14 Lakhs. The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R EV, with a 50 kWh battery and a range of 300 km, is another upcoming electric vehicle with a price range of ₹10 - 14 Lakhs. The VinFast VF3, an upcoming vehicle with a range of 210 km and a price range of ₹9 - 12 Lakhs, is also expected to be launched soon.

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza, with a 1462 cc engine and a starting price of ₹8.69 Lakhs, and the Dzire, with a 1197 cc engine and a starting price of ₹6.84 Lakhs, continue to be popular choices among consumers.

With these price cuts and the launch of new vehicles, Maruti Suzuki is poised to continue its dominance in the Indian automobile market during the festive season and beyond.
