Manchester United's goalkeeper stands on the brink of a wage boost, as speculation mounts that the Andre Onana transfer to Turkey is nearing completion according to a recent report.

In a surprising turn of events, Manchester United's goalkeeper Andre Onana is set to leave Old Trafford this week, as he is poised to join Trabzonspor on loan. The Turkish club, coached by Fatih Tekke, has been keen on securing Onana's services, with the transfer expected to be finalised before the Turkish window closes on Friday.

Onana, who joined Manchester United from Inter Milan in 2023, has failed to establish himself as the Red Devils' first-choice goalkeeper, leading to this loan move. His departure will pave the way for Lammens to become Ruben Amorim's first-choice goalkeeper at Old Trafford.

The move to Trabzonspor offers Onana a fresh start, where he will have the opportunity to play regular first-team football and earn bonuses in addition to his salary. Notably, his Old Trafford salary will be covered in full by Trabzonspor, a testament to the club's commitment to securing his services.

Interestingly, Onana's value on Transfermarkt has decreased from €40m to €25m since joining Manchester United. His situation at the club, coupled with the opportunity for regular playing time and higher earnings, has made this move an attractive prospect for the Cameroon international.

The move to Trabzonspor is also aimed at helping Onana prepare for Cameroon's AFCON participation at the end of 2025. It's worth mentioning that Trabzonspor recently sold goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir to Galatasaray, creating a spot for Onana to play regularly.

Meanwhile, Bayindir and Tom Heaton will serve as back-up goalkeepers for Amorim at Trabzonspor, with Lammens set to take on the primary role following Onana's departure.

Rumours also suggest that Emi Martinez is linked with a move to Manchester United during the transfer window, potentially adding another twist to the goalkeeping situation at Old Trafford.

This transfer marks an exciting chapter for both Onana and Trabzonspor, as they embark on this new journey together. As the deal nears completion, fans of both clubs eagerly await the official announcement.
