Manchester City football player Rayan Ait-Nouri's current health status: Premier League injury information
Manchester City's Injury Woes Continue as Ait-Nouri Suffers Setback
Manchester City's recent run of bad luck with injuries has taken a turn for the worse, as left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri is facing an uncertain future due to a knee injury.
Ait-Nouri, a £36.3m summer signing, made an impressive debut for the club, helping secure a 4-0 win over Wolves in Man City's opening game. However, during the first half of Man City's game against Tottenham, he was forced to leave the field due to an apparent ankle injury.
Pep Guardiola expressed hope that Ait-Nouri's injury recovery could be quick, but he did not speak with doctors about the injury immediately after the game. The time frame for Ait-Nouri's injury isn't yet clear, and it remains to be seen if he will be fit for City's game against Brighton this weekend.
If Ait-Nouri is not fit for the game against Brighton, he could return after the international break. Meanwhile, City's next game after Brighton is against Manchester United on September 14 at the Etihad.
Ait-Nouri will have to fill some big boots as Josko Gvardiol, a highly regarded star defender, is expected to return to central defense once fit. Gvardiol recently ranked at no.2 on a website's list of the best left-backs in the world right now.
Meanwhile, City could also be boosted by the return of Ederson after the international break. The goalkeeper has been out of action due to injury, and his return would be a welcome addition to the squad.
In the meantime, Nathan Ake has stepped up to replace Ait-Nouri in the left-back position. City will be hoping for a strong performance from Ake as they look to bounce back from their shock elimination from the Carabao Cup by League Two Grimsby.
Tottenham won the game against Man City 2-0, with goals from Brennan Johnson and Joao Palhinha. The result was a blow for City, who will be hoping to get back to winning ways as soon as possible.
Despite the injury setbacks, City remain one of the favourites for the Premier League title this season. They will be hoping to put their recent woes behind them and focus on the task at hand as they prepare to face Brighton this weekend.
