Malta's iGaming Industry Raises €200K for Neurological Care Home at Charity Gala

A charity gala in Malta has raised over €200,000 for DAR Bjorn, the country's only neurological care home. The event, held on May 9 at Villa Bighi, brought together more than 400 guests from the iGaming industry and local business community. Organisers BGaming, White Label Casinos, and NEXT.io aimed to support patients with ALS, MS, and other neurodegenerative conditions.

The DAR Bjorn Charity Gala focused on funding a new respite centre for short-term patient care. DAR Bjorn provides advanced treatment for serious neurological disorders, serving as Malta's sole facility of its kind. BGaming alone donated €20,000, enough to fund an entire room in the upcoming centre.

The event took place amid rising expectations for gambling firms to demonstrate social responsibility. BGaming CEO Marina Ostrovtsova thanked attendees for their generosity and highlighted the industry's shift toward meaningful community engagement. Over 400 guests attended, including key figures from Malta's iGaming sector and business leaders. Proceeds will go toward constructing the respite facility, designed to offer temporary relief for patients and their families. The gala's success reflects a broader push within the sector to align profit with purpose-driven initiatives.

The fundraiser secured €200,000 for DAR Bjorn's new respite centre. BGaming's direct contribution and the event's turnout signal stronger ties between Malta's iGaming industry and social causes. The facility will provide essential short-term care for those battling neurodegenerative diseases.
