The application period for first-grade admission in the capital of Kazakhstan is ongoing and will continue until August 31, 2025. This was announced by the Ministry of Education and Science, as the country prepares to enroll over 30,000 children in the new academic year.

The application process commenced on April 1, 2025, and can be completed through the "Electronic Government" portal. Parents have the flexibility to submit their children's documents either in person at schools or electronically via the portal.

To apply, parents or legal representatives will need to provide several documents. These include the Child's Health Passport (form No. 052-2/у), the "Card of Preventive Vaccinations" (form No. 065/у), a digital photograph of the child (3x4 cm in size), and an application form.

In an effort to streamline the enrollment process, schools are not permitted to demand additional documents beyond those specified by law. Parents are advised to submit their applications on time and not to postpone it until the last day of August.

A significant development in the application process is the option for parents to choose the instruction language for their children. Currently, approximately 70% of parents have opted for the state language.

As of today, over 216,000 applications have been submitted nationwide for first grade. The Ministry of Education and Science encourages parents to take advantage of the simplified application process and ensure their child's enrollment in the new academic year.
