Major unveilings at IFA 2025: Home automation advancements, debut of a robotic vacuum cleaner, and an innovative tennis companion

IFA 2025, the annual international trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances, is taking place in Berlin from September 6 to September 9. This year's event promises an array of exciting new tech releases that are sure to catch the attention of tech enthusiasts worldwide. Here's a roundup of some of the most notable announcements so far.

Acer is debuting the Acer Plus Spin 514 Chromebook, the company's first Chromebook with an NPU, offering AI features. According to our senior shopping reporter Haley Henschel, this budget 2-in-1 laptop boasts a premium design and good power for the price. The Acer Plus Spin 514 Chromebook can move into a tent mode or lie flat in tablet mode and promises up to 17 hours of web browsing on a single charge.

Garmin is also making waves at IFA 2025 with the release of the Fenix 8 Pro smartwatch. Designed for serious athletes, the Fenix 8 Pro offers features such as an LED flashlight, satellite and cellular connectivity, and the ability to send a signal to Garmin's Response Center. The Fenix 8 Pro comes in two versions: an AMOLED display and a microLED display, with prices starting at $1,199.99 for the AMOLED version.

Samsung is introducing the Sound Tower ST50F and Sound Tower ST40F, party speakers equipped with long-lasting batteries and water resistance. The Sound Tower ST50F is expected to be released in September 2022 for $699.99, while the Sound Tower ST40F is expected to be released for $499.99.

In the realm of home appliances, Eufy is debuting the MarsWalker, a transport system for the Eufy RoboVac Omni S2. This innovative accessory helps the robot vacuum navigate multi-story homes and climb stairs. The Eufy RoboVac Omni S2 and the MarsWalker are expected to be released in January 2026 and spring 2026, respectively.

Anker is introducing the Nebula X1 Pro projector, a large, wheeled projector that also functions as a "mobile theater station." The Nebula X1 Pro offers a 4K display with 3,500 ANSI lumens, and it includes Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision for improved sound quality. The Nebula X1 Pro will be launched on Kickstarter on September 23 and is expected to cost between $4,000 and $5,000. Early bird preorders can secure the projector for $2,499.

Govee is debuting the Permanent Outdoor Lights Prism at IFA 2025, which offers a triple-color lighting effect and adjustable brightness from 6500K to 2700K. The Permanent Outdoor Lights Prism is designed to work in a temperature range between -30 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit and promises a lifespan of 50,000 hours. The release date for the Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights Prism is September 22, and it will be available for purchase on Amazon on launch day.

SwitchBot is debuting the Acemate Tennis Robot, an AI-powered tennis robot that serves as an always-available tennis partner. The Acemate Tennis Robot can catch, serve, and analyze tennis strokes for single-player practice sessions. The Acemate Robot is currently in production and will start shipping in November, with preorders getting a $900 discount. There's also a pickleball version available.

Lastly, Eufy is debuting the EufyMake E1 UV Printer, which allows users to print 3D textures on various items, such as mugs, art pieces, and T-shirts. The EufyMake E1 UV Printer is expected to be released in December 2025, with preorders potentially shipping as early as October.
