Major east-end road intersection that was halted due to a massive sinkhole has reopened.

The City of Toronto has issued an update on the sinkhole that developed at the intersection of Coxwell and Cosburn avenues on Thursday morning.

According to the statement, the sinkhole was caused by a water main break. City crews have been working to carry out emergency repairs, and videos and photos shared online show water gushing out from the sinkhole.

However, no new information was provided about the progress of the repairs or the cause of the water gushing from the sinkhole. The update also did not mention any ongoing efforts to prevent further flooding or support impacted residents.

The City of Toronto is responsible for the emergency repairs at the depression at the intersection of Coxwell and Cosburn Avenue. The 87 Cosburn bus was temporarily rerouted due to the sinkhole, but no new information was given about its status.

Sadly, the basements of two nearby homes were flooded as a result of the sinkhole and road damage. The city has not provided any information about the condition of these homes or the support being offered to their residents.

On a positive note, the city has announced that the intersection of Coxwell and Cosburn avenues has reopened. City crews are continuing to work to prevent further flooding and support impacted residents.
