Mahindra Kabira Festival 2025 Unites Music, Heritage, and Kabir’s Timeless Wisdom
The ninth Mahindra Kabira Festival, happening near you from December 19 to 21, 2025, is set to be the main event in Varanasi. This annual festival, held on the city’s historic ghats, celebrates the 15th-century mystic Kabir through music, heritage, and culture. Organized by Teamwork Arts and supported by the Mahindra Group, the main event continues to grow as a vibrant showcase of India’s artistic traditions.
Founded by the Mahindra Group, the festival has become a key platform for exploring Kabir’s teachings of unity and introspection. Sanjoy K Roy, Managing Director of Teamwork Arts, has produced over thirty festivals worldwide, blending performing, visual, and literary arts. His latest autobiography, There’s a Ghost in My Room, reflects on the unseen forces shaping creative work.
This year’s lineup includes Rahul Deshpande and the New York-based Aditya Prakash Ensemble. Their performances will span classical, folk, Sufi, and contemporary styles. Alongside concerts, the festival offers heritage walks and the sacred Ganga Arati, immersing attendees in Varanasi’s layered culture.
Roy emphasizes the importance of corporate support in sustaining such events. Partnerships like Mahindra’s allow festivals to expand while staying true to their artistic vision. He also believes Kabir’s message of kindness and reflection is more relevant than ever in today’s world.
