Minnesota Lynx Soar to 30 Wins with Collier's Return

The Minnesota Lynx secured a significant victory over the Indiana Fever, clinching an 87-74 win on the back of Napheesa Collier's impressive performance. The forward made a remarkable impact in her return to the court after a three-week absence, scoring 32 points, grabbing nine rebounds, and shooting an impressive 68.8% from the field.

Fans at the game erupted in cheers as Collier was announced in the starting lineup. Her return could not have come at a better time, as the postseason approaches. The Lynx's star player is not only the reigning Defensive Player of the Year but is also a contender for the MVP award this season.

The Lynx's success can be attributed to their fully healthy squad, with captain Courtney Williams expressing confidence in the team, stating, "we're a problem." Williams' confidence was backed up by her performance, as she broke Minnesota's record for the most assists in a single season.

Collier praised Carrington's addition to the team, stating that her play style fits the team's style perfectly and she's an easy player to play with. Carrington, who won the Most Improved Player of the Year award and was named to the WNBA All-Defensive First team last season, was traded to the Lynx from the Dallas Wings before the trade deadline. She has integrated perfectly into Cheryl Reeve's coaching system and has made a difference on both ends for the Minnesota Lynx.

Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve was pleased to see Collier back on the court, stating, "Napheesa's return has given us a boost that we needed. She's a crucial part of our team, and her presence on the court is undeniable."

The Lynx currently lead the league in several key categories, including team points per game (86.7), field goal percentage (47.2), and assists per game (23.4). With Collier's return, the Lynx matched their win total from last year and are preparing for a long playoff run.

The Minnesota Lynx will face the Seattle Storm at home on Thursday, August 28. The team wore shirts featuring the SLAM cover with Courtney Williams and Natisha Hiedeman as a nod to their success this season. An exclusive interview with Veronica Burton on her breakout season and the Valkyries' playoff push is also available.

The MVP race is heating up, with Collier, Alyssa Thomas, A'ja Wilson, and Allisha Gray all in contention for the award. With Collier's impressive return and the Lynx's dominance in the league, it's clear that they are a force to be reckoned with in the WNBA.
