Luxury vehicle manufacturer BMW unveils the latest addition to its M5 series: the M5 Touring, priced at a steep £112,500.

The automotive world has been abuzz with excitement as BMW officially revealed the new M5 Touring, marking the return of the high-performance estate car after a 14-year hiatus. The new M5 Touring, priced at £112,500, is set to hit the market in 2024, and will also make its way to the US.

Under the hood, the M5 Touring is powered by a 4.4-litre V8 engine paired with an electric motor, producing a combined 717bhp. This powerhouse allows the M5 Touring to accelerate from 0-62mph in a blistering 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 155mph (189mph with the Driver Package).

The M5 Touring shares most of its internal components with the M5 Saloon, but offers a more practical design. With the seats up, the luggage area offers 500 litres of space, and this expands to 1,630 litres when the seats are folded down. The M5 Touring also boasts extra bracing to ensure a stable ride, even when fully loaded.

Despite its larger size, the M5 Touring maintains the same sleek silhouette as the Saloon, with a rear-end treatment that includes a new bumper, big split diffuser, roof spoiler, and new lights.

For those who have been longing for a touring version of the 2012 BMW M5, Alpina has revealed the Alpina B5 BiTurbo Touring, which offers a similar driving experience. However, the new M5 Touring promises to deliver the same level of performance and luxury that BMW enthusiasts have come to expect from the M series.

Interestingly, the inflation-adjusted price of the BMW M5 Touring between 2007 and 2023 ranges approximately from 90,000 to 140,000 euros, depending on the model year and specifications. This places the new M5 Touring at a premium, but within the expected range for a high-performance vehicle of its class.

BMW has confirmed that a new generation of the BMW 5 Serie Touring has been in the works, and the M5 Touring is set to be a part of this new lineup. The new BMW M5 Touring will debut at Monterey Car Week on 15 August 2024, much to the delight of car enthusiasts around the world.

In addition to its impressive performance and practical design, the new M5 Touring also offers an EV range of 42 miles from its 18.6kWh battery. This eco-friendly feature is a testament to BMW's commitment to sustainable technology, and a promising sign of things to come in the automotive industry.

In conclusion, the new BMW M5 Touring is set to be a game-changer in the high-performance estate car market. With its powerful engine, practical design, and eco-friendly features, it promises to deliver an unparalleled driving experience for BMW enthusiasts around the world.
