Luxurious Aircraft Designs Buck Tradition with Daring Personal Touch Designs
In a departure from the conventional wisdom that conservative interiors boost resale value, Flexjet is shaking up the private jet industry with its bold and innovative cabin designs. The latest example is the Al-Rashid's Praetor 600 cabin, which bucked tradition and has received several offers to be sold since its delivery.
Ibrahim and Ryann Al-Rashid, based in Miami Beach, have designed a bold interior for their Praetor 600 jet, creating a unique and captivating space that stands out from the crowd.
Meanwhile, one of the top finalists in Flexjet's recent design contest, named "Carolina", focuses on a natural landscape theme, offering a tranquil and serene atmosphere. The "Solrise" interior, designed by Natalie Rodríguez, takes this concept further, using olive and juniper accents, dark Emperador marble, and antiqued metalwork to create a theatrical sense of sunrise. The design, which can be found in a BBJ 787-8, a Boeing Dreamliner variant used by heads of state and VVIPs, resembles a five-star hotel rather than a corporate space.
Another top finalist in the Flexjet design contest is inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture, offering a more traditional yet elegant approach to private jet design.
Flexjet's Red Label series, part of an $800 million private-equity deal Ricci recently inked with the luxury giant LVMH, includes a variety of customized cabin interiors. The "Volare" interior, inspired by the Riva yacht, is a standout, while the Bentley-themed interior and cabins influenced by LVMH brands are also highly anticipated.
Kenn Ricci, Flexjet chair, states that customers and prospects love these interiors because they are fun. He believes the pipeline of creativity for customized cabin interiors will continue to expand, as competitors begin to offer more artistically customized cabins, following the trend set by Flexjet.
Paris Hilton is among the jet owners embracing personalized cabin interiors, joining a growing list of individuals who appreciate the unique and personal touch that these customized spaces offer.
In addition to his work on the Red Label series, Kenn Ricci also designed Flexjet's new $50 million headquarters, further demonstrating his commitment to innovation and design excellence. With over 150 entries in a recent design contest for new cabin interiors, it is clear that the demand for customized private jet interiors is on the rise.
