Ludwigsburg's health service scrutinizes the care conditions in the everyday routines of primary care physicians

In an effort to address the growing challenges in outpatient medical care, a working group has been established in Germany. The group, which includes representatives from the District Physicians, Health Promotion and Health Planning Department, and the Health Department, will coordinate with relevant actors to develop future solution proposals and network at both the municipal and healthcare system levels.

The working group's focus comes at a crucial time, as demographic change is becoming a significant challenge for the district and the outpatient care system. The retirement of more family doctors is occurring at a time when the demand for medical care in the population is increasing.

Recognising the importance of primary care, the Stockmann family doctor's practice in Kornwestheim was recently awarded for their daily work in this area. Dr. Rainer Stockmann and Dr. Axel Stockmann were the fortunate recipients of a lottery, and were presented with a symbolic trophy by Dr. Carola Maitra (Chairperson of the District Physicians), Dr. Uschi Traub (Head of the Health Promotion and Health Planning Department), and Marius Gäßler (Employee in the Health Department).

Dr. Carola Maitra acknowledged that despite the efforts of the district physicians, not always sufficient solutions have been found. However, she expressed optimism that the working group's report and recommendations, which will be available on the health department's website in the near future, will help to address the future challenges in the outpatient care system.

Dr. Uschi Traub from the Health Department stated that primary care is an important issue because it provides local healthcare and a first point of contact for health complaints. She also mentioned that future publications will include supply reports in the form of care reports on the website of the health department.

Marius Gäßler, coordinator of the physician survey, will publish the results and recommendations for action in a supply report on the health department's website. The editorial about the award of the Stockmann medical practice building in Kornwestheim was written by Valentin Mairsch.

The district currently has a high-quality and comprehensive primary care situation, and the working group's efforts are aimed at ensuring this continues into the future. The presentation was accompanied by a special thank you to all participants in the survey.
