London's bold week of events celebrates International Women's Day 2026

London is preparing for a week of events to mark International Women's Day 2026 on Sunday, 8 March. From art exhibitions to fundraising lunches, the capital will host gatherings that highlight female achievements and tackle ongoing inequalities.

As of 4 March, no further international events have been confirmed, but updates are available on the official International Women's Day website and platforms like VisitLondon.com and Eventbrite.

The celebrations begin early with the Affordable Art Fair's spring edition, running from 4 to 8 March. Over 900 artists and 115 galleries will take part, featuring a special exhibition dedicated to female creators.

On the same day, Mary Portas will host a fundraising lunch at The Barbary in Notting Hill. The event supports The King's Trust's Change a Girl's Life initiative. Meanwhile, Scott's Richmond will welcome Olympic athlete Sally Gunnell for a lunch and Q&A on motivation and mindset.

Midweek, AllBright's Step Forward Summit on 6 March brings together female entrepreneurs. Discussions will focus on women's health, financial independence, and business leadership.

Art on a Postcard will also showcase an exhibition by female artists, with proceeds aiding The Hepatitis C Trust's work with women in the criminal justice system.

The week closes with a one-off lunch at Cavita on Wigmore Street on 8 March. Five female chefs will collaborate on the menu, donating all proceeds to Refuge, a charity supporting survivors of domestic abuse.

The events span art, sport, business, and charity, offering multiple ways to engage with women's stories and challenges. While no additional international events have been announced, organisers encourage checking official channels for the latest details on London's celebrations.
