In a significant development, Chinese automaker Dongfeng is set to release a new crossover vehicle in June. The upcoming model, named the Voyah Zhiyin SUV, is based on the Jingyi MPV platform.

While the exact designation of the new crossover is yet to be announced, it is expected to join the growing trend of Crossover madness. The Voyah Zhiyin SUV will boast a ground clearance of 20 centimeters and will feature enlarged wheel arches covered with black plastic.

Under the hood, the Voyah Zhiyin SUV will be powered by a 1.8 liter turbo engine, capable of delivering 160 horsepower and 215 newton meters of torque.

The Voyah Zhiyin SUV is poised to be a competitive offering, targeting young families and aiming to challenge Tesla's Model Y. It will be the first full-size electric crossover from Dongfeng, equipped with Huawei technology.

Interestingly, the Voyah brand already has a few successful models under its belt, including the Voyah Dream, Voyah Courage, and the Taishan SUV. However, the connection between the Dongfeng-developed Voyah Zhiyin SUV and these existing models is not yet clear.

Meanwhile, Voyah has also teased the launch of the Taishan flagship SUV with level 3 autonomous driving Huawei ADAS for a Q4 release. The updated Voyah Courage, a Model Y competitor, has already been launched in China for 28,200 USD, while the Voyah Dream with tank turn and 5C charging started pre-sale at 54,500 USD.

Despite the exciting developments, the Voyah Zhiyin SUV will not be present at the Beijing Auto Show. The release date for this anticipated crossover is eagerly awaited by automobile enthusiasts and the general public alike.
