Wiesbaden, Germany – German-Turkish economic relations were the focus of a recent conversation, with Nagihan İlknur Akdevelioglu, the Consul General of Turkey in Frankfurt, playing a key role.

Born in Bursa, Turkey in 1978, Nagihan studied political science at Ankara University and earned a master's degree in European studies at Boğaziçi University. She began her career in 2002 at a private bank's supervisory authority before joining the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2006.

The conversation served to maintain good relations between the twin cities, Wiesbaden and Fatih, which have been linked since 2012. Fatih is a district of Istanbul, located on the European side of the city. Since the proclamation of the twinning, a twinning association has been actively promoting cultural exchange and cooperation between the cities.

More than 16,000 residents of Wiesbaden have Turkish roots, and the twin cities maintain an intensive exchange of their schools. Numerous study and educational trips between the twin cities have been organised, further strengthening the bond between the two cities.

The Press Office of the State Capital Wiesbaden, located at Schlossplatz 6, 65183 Wiesbaden, is the publisher of this press release. Citizens can contact the responsible department or office of the Press Office with any questions they may have.

As of August 20, 2024, Nagihan İlknur Akdevelioglu is the Consul General of Turkey in Frankfurt. Norman Thatcher Scharpf previously held this position.
