Local initiatives, totaling 34, are being backed by the authorities for the purpose of fostering community integration.

In a bid to promote diversity and social participation, the State Secretary Dr. Ute Leidig from the Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, and Integration has announced the funding of 34 integration projects across Baden-Württemberg. The total funding for these projects amounts to approximately 1.8 million euros, with each project receiving a maximum of 80,000 euros.

The funding aims to overcome digital barriers and ensure easier access to technologies and services. It also focuses on improving digital participation for people with a migration background. This year's funding is a response to the advice of the independent expert panel, who advised the Ministry of Social Affairs of Baden-Württemberg to support these projects.

The funded projects will establish structures for honorary office guides and implement measures for culturally sensitive design of existing offers. They will also focus on projects that improve encounter and exchange in diverse society, such as strengthening intercultural dialogue and enabling encounters on equal terms.

The funding is intended to foster social cohesion and strengthen the democratic foundation at the local level. Both municipalities and free carriers are being funded, with a proportional subsidy of between 75 and 90 percent.

Dr. Leidig emphasized that diversity is our strength and participation is our goal. Secure access to digital technologies is a basic prerequisite for social participation and can strengthen digital competencies and sustainably promote self-determination and participation in social life.

These integration projects are expected to make a significant contribution to enhancing social cohesion and promoting digital inclusion in Baden-Württemberg. The projects will run for up to three years, and their implementation is eagerly awaited.
