Livestream Killer on Las Vegas Strip Faces Possible Capital Punishment as YouTube Personality

In a shocking turn of events, Manuel "Sin City Manny" Ruiz, a well-known YouTube streamer, has been indicted for the double murder of fellow content creator Rodney Finley and his wife, Tanisha, which took place at the Bellagio Fountains on the Las Vegas Strip on June 8, 2025. The incident was broadcast live on social media.

**Timeline and Charges**

Ruiz was arraigned on July 17, 2025, following his indictment by a Clark County grand jury on two counts of first-degree murder with a deadly weapon. Prosecutors have signaled their intention to seek the death penalty, with a Death Penalty Review Committee set to meet on July 29, 2025. Ruiz remains in custody without bail and is due back in court on August 4 or 8, 2025.

**Self-Defense Claim**

Upon surrendering to Henderson police a day after the incident, Ruiz claimed self-defense. However, the police and prosecutors dispute this claim, citing the livestream footage that reportedly shows Ruiz advancing towards Rodney Finley while shooting. The police investigations revealed no weapons on or near the victims, nor were any visible in the livestream or other videos, undermining Ruiz's self-defense assertion.

**Social Media Feud**

The incident is believed to be the deadly escalation of an ongoing social media feud between Ruiz and the Finleys, dating back to October 2023. The feud involved insults, threats, and public videos attacking each other's reputations. The shooting is said to have stemmed directly from this online conflict.

Las Vegas Metro Police Department's Assistant Sheriff Tom Wolfson addressed public concerns about safety on the Las Vegas Strip, emphasizing its safety despite the incident. He dismissed Ruiz's self-defense claim as "garbage."

The case remains active with upcoming court dates and death penalty reviews pending. The victims, Rodney and Tanisha Finley, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
