President Putin to Speak at the Tenth Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok

On September 5, President Vladimir Putin will deliver a speech at the Eastern Economic Forum (VEF) in Vladivostok, Russia. This marks the tenth edition of the event, which began in 2015 and runs from September 3-6, 2025.

The Eastern Economic Forum is a significant platform for discussions on the future of Russia's economy and business development, as well as a means to ensure economic ties with friendly countries in the East and Asia. The forum aims to promote the economic and investment attractiveness of Russia's Far East and expand international ties in the Asia-Pacific region.

This year's forum will cover a range of topics, including the conflict in Ukraine, transition to national currencies, and complex relations with the EU. Additionally, broader European political challenges, interdisciplinary debates on Europe's future, and citizen engagement in Europe’s development may also be discussed, as exemplified by the themes of the Europa-Forum Wachau.

The forum will also feature speeches from three prominent guests: Li Hongzhong, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, Laos Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, and Mongolian Prime Minister Gombojavyn Zandanashatar. All three guests will participate in a discussion and answer questions after their speeches.

After his speech, Putin will answer questions from participants, businessmen, and guests from different countries. The broadcast of Putin's speech at the VEF will be available on KP.RU, with KP.RU later reporting on the main statements of the president in a separate article.

It is worth noting that the forum was canceled in 2020 due to the coronavirus. However, this year's event is set to take place in person, with interested foreign investors in attendance.

During his speeches at the forum, the president typically emphasises the development of the Far East. This year's event promises to be a valuable opportunity for discussions on the future of Russia's economy and business development, as well as the expansion of international ties in the Asia-Pacific region.
