LIVE NATION SIGNALS BEYONCE TO PERFORM IN VEGAS: Adele Addresses Hater at Concert; Ringo Starr Hints at New Album "LOVE" Revealed
The big question about the next Las Vegas residency is not Beyonce.
Over the weekend, Live Nation left music fans in the US disappointed when they posted an intriguing photo on Instagram showing a lady with light hair wearing a cowboy hat, taken from behind, and teasing a "big announcement" for Monday.
Beyonce has been seen sporting a cowboy hat to promote her newest country album, "Cowboy Carter," which broke records by becoming the most-streamed album of 2024 only a day after its release on March 29th.
However, the mystery cowgirl in the picture is none other than Lainey Wilson. She will perform a one-off concert, not a residency, at MGM Grand Garden Arena during NFR weekend on December 14th. This is part of her "Wildflowers and Wild Horses" tour and her opening acts will be Tracy Lawrence and Mae Estes.
Although Wilson is a well-known and acclaimed country singer/songwriter who played four dates at The Theater at Virgin Hotels in December, she's definitely not Beyonce. (Who could ever be, right?)
In a playful nod to Wilson fans (who call themselves "wild horses"), Live Nation's caption read, "Vegas, hold your horses ... wild horses, that is."
Some fans were not happy about the trick and became overexcited thinking it was Beyonce. Instagram user n.i.k.o__00 commented, "OMGGG BEYONCEEEEEE," while trentmacbain wrote, "BETTER NOT BE!" Xadriaxn also expressed concern saying, "If this isn’t beyonce yall wrong bcs yall know what you doing..."
It seems that the anticipation and excitement from Wilson fans could have caused some confusion with the BeyHive, Beyonce's fanbase.
Tickets for Wilson's Las Vegas concert on Dec. 14th go on sale at 10 am PT on Friday, June 7th through Ticketmaster.
The Expected Misunderstanding with Adele
Adele made worldwide headlines after she interrupted her show at Caesars Palace on Saturday to address a homophobic heckler.
A video made it to social media which showed Adele responding to an audience member yelling "Pride sucks!" as she conversed with the audience between songs. The day occurred during the first day of Pride Month, a time of celebration for the LGBTQ+ community.
Adele reacted, "What was that? Did you just say, 'Pride sucks?!' Did you come to my fucking show and say that Pride sucks? Are you fucking stupid? Don't be so fucking ridiculous!" This video has been viewed over 10.5 million times by fans.
Even more recent headlines have emerged following another video that was recorded closer to the heckler which clearly showed the person yelling "Work sucks!" during a conversation about Adele's hectic schedule.
It appears that the audience member made a mistake by thinking that Adele was talking about Pride instead of her busy work schedule.
A possible future for Cirque du Soleil’s “The Beatles LOVE” has been suggested by Ringo Starr following its final show at the doomed Mirage on July 7th.
In an interview with San Diego Union-Tribune reporter George Varga, Ringo Starr said: "Of course, people are talking about maybe this, maybe that. And one part of me thought, you know, it’d be good to do a late-night ‘LOVE’ show. Because we (The Beatles) have some very, not dark but not-too-bright songs."
It is likely that the "talking people" Starr referred to were Cirque officials as they were taken by surprise when the Mirage announced its plan to close for three years to transform into the new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Guitar Hotel.
Starr made his final visit to "Love" on Thursday, accompanied by members of his All-Starr Band. Two nights later, his band concluded their run at The Venetian Theatre.
