Live Monitoring Streamed Directly: A Convenient "All-in-One" Device for Process Observation

The uEye Live series, the latest offering from IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH, is designed to revolutionize the way industrial processes are monitored and visualized. This series of cameras, engineered for 24/7 operation, promises to deliver unparalleled performance and versatility.

At the heart of the uEye Live series is the integrated Sony IMX678 sensor with STARVIS 2 technology. This combination ensures outstanding light sensitivity, high resolution, and a wide dynamic range, making the cameras ideal for a variety of industrial applications, from production monitoring to quality assurance, robotics, research & development, and more.

The cameras support RTSP with H.264 compression and HTTP in MJPEG format, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems. They can transmit up to three parallel video streams, providing comprehensive coverage of machine processes.

The uEye Live series also boasts AI-based image analysis for automated and optimized inspection workflows. This feature, coupled with the cameras' exceptional image quality, makes them perfect for continuous or event-triggered visual inspection of machines and production lines, locally or remotely.

For demanding industrial environments, the uEye SCP model is housed in a robust 29 × 29 × 29 mm enclosure with lockable connectors and a C-mount lens mount. On the other hand, the uEye SLE is a cost-optimized board-level camera (45 × 45 mm) suitable for embedded and OEM applications.

Both the uEye SLE and uEye SCP cameras feature an on-board Image Signal Processor (ISP) for automatic correction of exposure, white balance, noise, and defective pixels. They also support event recording, storing video sequences locally in their persistent memory. Event-based recording of video sequences can be done directly to the camera's internal memory, ensuring complete documentation of critical processes.

Patrick Schick, Product Owner 3D & Vision Software at IDS, explains that the series excels in terms of quality, spare parts procurement, long-term availability, and standardized interfaces. The uEye Live series is an easy and quickly integrated camera solution for visualizing machine processes, making it a valuable asset for industries seeking to streamline their operations and enhance productivity.

Moreover, the uEye Live series cameras are ideal for monitoring robotic workspaces and recording incidents such as collisions. This feature enables fast root-cause analysis and safer operations, making these cameras an essential tool for the future of industrial automation.
