Lisbon's Marvila Welcomes a Festive SO!CHRISTMAS Market This November
A festive Christmas event is coming to Lisbon's Marvila neighbourhood this November. SO!CHRISTMAS will fill Prata Riverside Village with live entertainment, seasonal workshops, and a bustling market. The free celebration takes place on Wednesday, 29th November 2023, from 2pm to 7pm.
The central square of Prata Riverside Village will host a packed programme for all ages. Visitors can enjoy performances by the Lisbon Community Choir and watch world champion hip-hop dancers from Arcade Dance School. Circus acts by Chapitô will also take the stage throughout the afternoon.
Shoppers can browse a Christmas market selling decorations, fashion, jewellery, wines, flowers, and natural trees. Hands-on workshops will offer lessons in making festive accessories, wreaths, and candles. At 6pm, the highlight of the evening arrives: Santa Claus will appear to switch on the Christmas tree lights. The event aims to showcase Marvila's vibrant community spirit. Organisers describe it as a chance to explore the neighbourhood while enjoying music, food, and holiday cheer in one of Lisbon's up-and-coming areas.
SO!CHRISTMAS runs from 2pm to 7pm with no entry fee. The tree lighting ceremony at 6pm will mark the official start of the festive season in Marvila. Local vendors, performers, and workshops will all feature in this one-day celebration.
