The Ohsweken Six Nations community, located southeast of Brantford, Ontario, saw a tense morning on Saturday as residents were asked to shelter in place following an incident involving an armed suspect. The order, issued just after 7:10 a.m., was lifted just before 11 a.m., allowing residents to resume their normal activities amid a heavy police presence.

The police warning was initially shared on platform X, and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) thanked the public for their cooperation, understanding, and vigilance during the advisory. People from outside the area were asked to avoid traveling there while the order was in place.

The investigation into the incident is still ongoing, and investigators have not provided any additional details. However, the OPP confirmed that there is no threat to public safety in relation to the incident. As a precaution, residents near Onondaga Road and Sixth Line were advised to lock their doors and windows.
