Life-Save Competition in Pforzheim Organized by DLRG during Badische Swimming Lifesaving Championships
The Pforzheim Local Branch of the DLRG made a splash at the Baden-Württemberg Lifesaving Swimming Championships held from June 15th to 17th, 2018, in Kehl. The three-day event, held on 50-meter lanes, saw the branch competing against 13 teams in the relay swimming event for the 13-14 age group, where they secured the 12th place.
In the open men's category, Noah Fandrey demonstrated his prowess by securing the 10th place. The 12-year-old girls' category saw Angelika Harsch placing 11th and Ella Fandrey 20th out of 25 participants. The boys' category in the same age group was graced by Christian Harsch, who came in 11th out of 19 competitors.
The relay swimming event for 12-year-olds saw the Pforzheim Local Branch securing the 5th place out of 14 teams. The camaraderie among the lifesavers was evident, extending even to a nearby school that served as their accommodation over the weekend.
The Baden-Württemberg championships proved to be another success for the Pforzheim Local Branch, with all participants expressing their desire for the event to be repeated in the future. However, the search for the leadership of the Pforzheim Local Branch who participated in the 2018 championships did not yield any results.
The Pforzheim Local Branch of the DLRG has shown resilience and determination in their pursuit of excellence in lifesaving swimming. Their participation in the Baden-Württemberg championships is a testament to their commitment and passion for the sport. As they continue to train and compete, we look forward to seeing their progress in future events.
