Levi's appoints a previous Victoria's Secret employee as their inaugural supply chain manager.
Levi Strauss & Co., the U.S. denim giant, has announced a series of changes in its executive team to drive a shift towards a direct-to-consumer focused company. One of the most significant appointments is that of Chris Callieri as the first-ever Chief Supply Chain Officer.
Callieri, who joins Levi's directly from Victoria's Secret, will begin his role on September 15, 2025. His tasks will include product development, sourcing, global supply chain management, sustainability, and logistics and distribution for Levi's.
Michelle Gass, CEO of Levi Strauss & Co., expressed her excitement about Callieri's appointment, stating that he is the right person to strengthen the company's supply chain agility, drive innovation, and advance sustainability goals. Gass added that Callieri's appointment is a key step in Levi's evolution towards a direct-to-consumer focused company.
The creation of the chief supply chain officer role at Levi's was due to the retirement of Liz O'Neill, who previously served as the company's operations director. The role of operations director at Levi's was previously held by O'Neill.
Other changes in the executive team include the appointment of new members, but specific details were not provided. Bernard Bedon, formerly of Nike, has been named the new HR director at Levi's. Karyn Hillman, previously the product director, has assumed responsibility for design and merchandising areas of the company.
The changes in the executive team are part of Levi's strategic plan, known as Project Fuel, which was launched last year. The plan aims to reduce costs and decrease the wholesale channel's weight in favor of retail sales.
Callieri's extensive experience in the fashion industry, having worked for Tory Burch and Adidas in the past, is expected to be a valuable asset in driving innovation and advancing sustainability goals at Levi's.
Jason Gowans has also been promoted to digital and technology director within the company.
Levi's carries a rich history and is known for its iconic denim products. With the new changes in the executive team, the company is poised to continue its journey towards becoming a leading direct-to-consumer company in the fashion industry.
